Summer heat in Fresno is unbearable. Just one step outside, and it feels as if the edge of the sun is two feet away from you. There are places one could go to not feel the summer heat, such as the mall. Fresno has two malls, Manchester Center, which is the oldest and less visited mall and Fashion Fair Mall, which is newer and more populated mall. Manchester Center isn't a bad mall, it just doesn't have that many, and is quite smaller than the other mall. Due to it's lack of people and empty parking lots, Manchester Center is host to many events. Some events include 5 de Mayo event, in which various latino artists perform on a small stage for free, and food and item shops all around the parking lot. Another event that is free and enjoyable are the car show events. Lowrider, performance and display cars litter the lot, displaying their trophies and achievements. Inside the mall, every once in a while, there are collectible stands right in the center. Baseball cards, autographed items, comics and trading card games. The mall is full of mom and pop shops, and well known chain stores. On the other hand Fashion Fair Mall is quite the opposite of Manchester Center. The mall is huge and there are numerous people shopping and window shopping. The mall is full of chain stores and very few mom and pop stores. As you'll have seen at their website, you could buy almost anything you wanted or needed at Fashion Fair Mall. Clothes, jewelry, footwear, food, etc. Basically like an ebay, but with a good workout.

Playing Tennis in Fresno
Another great pastime at Fresno is tennis. Of the many tennis courts around Fresno, the ones at Roeding Park are the best for playing tennis. Roeding Park has different opening and closing times, due to Daylight Savings Time, and a small admission fee displayed here. If one walks or rides a bike to the park there is no fee at all, so getting into the tennis courts will be free. The tennis courts are well maintained by the City of Fresno. The nets are tight and the courts are surrounded by fences, so you don't have to chase your tennis balls every thirty seconds. You will find an array of people on the tennis courts, from experts who know there way around the court to amateurs, such as myself, having a good time swinging a racket. If you have no knowledge of how to play tennis, here is a website that will help you understand the game of tennis.
